was born in NYC but now lives with his young daughter in the California Sierra foothills. Ilan holds a degree in music composition, and has spent many years touring the world with show bands. He does music production in various styles, samples of which can be heard at www.emily-music.com Ilan reads every day, usually pecking at two or three books at a time, and is comfortable with having a pile of books on his nightstand. He credits his love of books to the likes of Chekhov, Marquez, Melville, and Updike. Ilan has written nine novels, five novellas, and about fifty short stories.

His novel The Gravedigger will be published by Casperian Books in the fall of 2010.
